Can I buy the car after my lease is over?

Whether or not you can buy the car depends on the kind of lease arrangement you are working with. Under a novated lease or a chattel lease, you have the option to purchase the vehicle. An operating lease and a Flexilease do not ordinarily have that option.

What's the minimum usage for my vehicle to qualify for the "business purposes" tax rebate?

Due to recent FBT regulation changes, there is now no minimum requirement for a vehicle to qualify for the “business purposes” tax rebate. That means your car can be for business purposes or 100% private use.

How do I know which lease arrangement is right for me?

What kinds of vehicles do you have available?

You can choose any vehicle that meets the following two requirements.

  1. The vehicle must carry passengers.
  2. The vehicle must not be more than 8 years old by the end of the lease.

How do I extend my lease?

Sit tight. One of our consultants will contact you 3 months before the end of your lease to discuss your options.

What costs aren't covered by a novated lease?

  • Road tolls
  • Traffic infringements
  • Options and accessories fitted after lease commencement

How can I reduce my payments?

The longer your lease, the lower the weekly or monthly installments.  If your vehicle usage reduces, you can contact us to reduce the allocations payable to the vehicle’s running costs.

How can I get out of my existing lease?

Just notify us for an account payout, then simply make the payment and let us know.

What happens once my lease is terminated?

A reconciliation of the vehicle’s running accounts will be completed. Any surpluses will be refunded and any deficits billed. This takes approximately 6 weeks.

What do I do when I need my car serviced/new tyres etc?

Take it to the relevant service centre or local tyre supplier. If you’re driving a Holden, take it to a Holden service centre. If you’re driving a Ford, take it to a Ford service centre. If you’re driving a Bugatti, lucky you, but take it to the Bugatti service centre.

Then simply tell them that your vehicle is a “Lease Plan Maintained Vehicle”, and they’ll bill us.

Why do I have to tell you my odometer readings?

One of the factors that determine the amount of FBT you pay is the number of kilometres you travel in the FBT year, which runs from 1 April to 31 March.  To help us make sure you are on target to meet your nominated kilometres, you are required to provide us with an odometer reading each quarter.  We will write to you prompting you to provide us with this data.

What is FBT?

Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) is a tax on non-cash benefits provided to you by your employer. A novated lease is a non-cash benefit and is therefore subject to FBT.  The amount of FBT payable, if any, is determined by a number of factors.  Don’t panic, we will crunch the numbers for you!

What is a BAS?

A BAS, is a Business Activity Statement. In short, it’s a report that you send to the Australian Tax Office about how much your business has earned. Again, if you’re not sure, check out the ATO website, here.
